A Classic Wedding with A Touch of Vintage Flare
Lauren and Matthew have us swooning over their wedding day and their infectious love for one another. Having a love for the outdoors easily inspired the couple when designing their Cross Creek Ranch wedding. They desired a natural and classic wedding with a flare of vintage to reflect their “old school styles”. Lauren and Matthew chose to marry in the Chapel and standing beside them in support were dear friends including three of Matthew’s former fellow Marines (thank you all for your service!).
Nothing quite like a beautiful bride in lace and a handsome groom in uniform…
Lauren’s brother hand-made their guest book log and wooden cupcake display (they looked awesome!). Their family and friends were an absolute delight to celebrate with during the evening. We are grateful for the opportunity to get to know this fantastic couple, as well as their family and friends. Thank you Lauren and Matthew for allowing us to serve you!
How did you meet?
“We actually met on separate vacations to New Orleans during Mardi Gras. I was with my girlfriends celebrating our friends 21st birthday and he was down from California visiting a friend who was stationed there. We ended up meeting the very last day before we left to go home and stayed in touch.”
Were there any sentimental or traditional details/heirlooms in your wedding?
“I wore my mother’s pearls during the ceremony. Her dad (my grandpa) had given them to her when she was little before a dance recital. I also used ribbons that belonged my grandmother (my moms mom), she used to make beautiful dolls and I found them in one of her drawers before the wedding. I was very close to her so it meant the world to me to have that little piece of her with me throughout the day.”

Why did you choose Cross Creek Ranch?
“I first fell in love with the location. The big trees, the ferns, all the greenery – it was the perfect “old Florida” feel that I love. Then I fell in love with the people that worked there. They were so helpful and since I was planning the wedding from 1200 miles away I knew I couldn’t have my hand in everything. I told them what we were picturing and that made it even better.”
