Dramatic- Elegant Wedding | Carriage House Stable | 150 Guests

Hoc + Kevin’s wedding day was a perfect blend of Dramatic-Elegance. The Carriage House Stable was veiled in white drapery, and charcoal linen, with a mix of both silver and gold finishes. Details were completed with greenery, white floral and pops of lilac, which perfectly tied together this bold, but glitzy vibe. Hoc + Kevin immersed their guests in a memorable evening that was topped with personal touches, and an interactive round of the “Newlywed Game”. As always, H + K gave us an inside look into their inspiration, vision, and overall personal style for their unforgettable event captured by Garry and Stacy Photography.

What drew you to Cross Creek Ranch? What were the deciding factors that led you to booking your day with us?

The location of the ranch was convenient for us, our local and out of town family and friends. The atmosphere and vibe of the ranch, that very down to earth feeling like you are at your family’s farm. The all-inclusive nature of the venue, and how charming the grounds are. Knowing that we have a team of professionals who have “been there, done that” a million times over to make our day run smoothly. The excellent service we received from the onset of touring the venue to finalizing and executing our wedding day.

What was your inspiration for your wedding style?

Kevin and I, especially me, wanted simple elegance from ceremony decor, to the reception area, so that the focus was on the meaning of our wedding day. Also, is EASY PEASY an inspiration?!

What was your inspiration for the colors you picked out?

Clean lines, simplicity, and keeping the vibe very vey down to earth and elegant, as if we were hosting the wedding at our own home.

How did you feel about your design meeting?

I was looking forward to it once our contract was signed. The meeting was packed from A to Z! It was overwhelming but Lisa was so supportive, patient, and offered so many ideas and honest feedback which were all important for this bride.

What were some of your must-haves for your wedding day?

We’re not rigid people and tried to keep an open mind about the day, setting expectations that were realistic.

Must haves: We wanted the food to be fantastic for our guests! We wanted the venue to create a fun and welcoming environment, the moment our guests arrived. We wanted to have an INTERACTION with every single guest. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED 9/3/2022.

How did the day feel personal for you both?

To keep it personal, we avoided any kind of activity or ritual that was not part of our norm. We just woke up, and had our normal weekend routine, i.e. morning run followed by coffee. While it was our official wedding day, we both knew that it was a day where our relationship was “legal”, but it was opportunity to be happy and grateful for another cherished day.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding attire?

For me, I wanted a wedding dress that had clean, simple lines without too much fluff such as yards and yards of lace. I didn’t want a dress that looked like grandma’s curtains or table cover. The main inspiration was picking out a dress that fit my personality, and made me feel like me, on my wedding day.

I ended up trying on a few dresses at the boutiques in town but did not fall in love with “the one.” The dress I ended up selecting was not available to try on anywhere near the Tampa Bay area, as it was discontinued. I took a chance and ordered online, estimated my dress size. It ended up being a great fit from Madame Bridal, a shop in Boynton Beach.

Kevin wanted to stay away from black and picked a blue suit from Indochino. Also picking the blue color, lightened the mood which he wanted as well.

What about your wedding party attire?

Since I didn’t have a color scheme, I wanted my junior bridesmaid and flower girls to pick out their own colors and dress style. A the end of the day, I wanted everyone to have something that was comfortable for them, affordable, and could be worn at other events.

Where did you go to customize your wedding stationary?

We selected Truly Engaging, an online retailer. It was very easy to design our invitations, and the service and shipping were fantastic!

What was your favorite moment of the day?

For Kevin and I, our favorite moment was laying eyes on our guests and connecting with them at the ceremony and reception. We were overjoyed that all the people we cared so much about were all together on our wedding day.

What helped inspire you as you were planning your wedding?

Inspiration: Staying within a reasonable budget. Adding touches that reflected our gratitude for finding each other and living this life of ours. Finding and planning moments during our ceremony and reception to highlight and honor the special family and friends in our lives. We wanted a wedding that wasn’t stuffy and too rigid in formality. We wanted to feel as if we were at a “get together” for very close friends and family. Most importantly, each guest at our wedding was important to us!
